‘Fire up the Quattro!’ – Gene Hunt’s Audi for sale

IT WAS the only thing that could rival tough-talking DCI Gene Hunt for on-screen presence – and now the famous red Audi Quattro is up for sale. The hit TV show Ashes to Ashes saw Philip Glennister reprise his role as Hunt opposite Keeley Hawes as Alex Drake, but for many it was the iconic 1981 Audi that stole the show. Jaguar & Land Rover eschew Detroit for Delhi

The Jaguar C-X16 will be on show at the Delhi Motor Show in January. Although Jaguar Land Rover has revealed that it won’t be exhibiting at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show in January – instead it will be out in force at the Delhi Motor Show – it’s really not a huge deal. Motor Show exhibiting is an expensive business, and despite JLR’s strong sales, costs are a factor.

Local Motors Active Lifestyle Vehicle Challenge winner announced

The winner of the first Local Motors Active Lifestyle Vehicle Challenge has been revealed as John Bukasa, who won $1,500 for his CLIMAX design. This was the first contest held as part of the annual Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year awards – which are in their tenth year – hosted by Carspondent, which celebrates the cars that best cater for people leading active lives. The brief challenged designers to develop a concept that enhances its owner's performance as an athlete or active adult/family.
